Junior Cycle

The curriculum is based on the Syllabus of the Department of Education and students will be prepared for the Junior Certificate examination to be taken at the end of Third Year. It is school policy to have classes of mixed ability, and in most subjects this will continue to the end of the Junior Certificate Programme.

• Business Studies
• * Computer Education
• * Guidance
• Civic, Social and Political Education
• Social Personal and Health Education
• * Physical Education
• Religion
• Students take French or German

In addition one of the following subjects is selected:

• Art, Craft & Design
  Wood Technology
• Technical Graphics
• Classical Studies
• Music
• Home Economics.

Subjects marked by an asterisk are not taken for Junior Certificate examination and are designed to broaden and enhance the basic curriculum. Subject combinations will be discussed with students at a later stage. They may be changed in the coming year. Every effort will be made to cater for the talent of the individual student.
